Lecturer in Indonesian & Sanskrit Languages
The University of British Columbia is accepting applications for one 12-month lecturer position in Indonesian and Sanskrit languages and culture, commencing July 1, 2012. The successful applicant will be asked to teach 6 credits of Indonesian language and 6-12 credits of Sanskrit language courses at all levels, as well as up to 6 credits of undergraduate lecture courses on Indonesian culture, religion, literature or film, depending on the applicant’s area of expertise.
Applicants are expected to have native or near-native fluency in Indonesian, expertise in Sanskrit, a Master’s degree in a relevant field, and experience teaching Indonesian and Sanskrit language as a second language in North America at the college/university level; strong preference will be given for applicants with training in Applied Linguistics or Language Education. Salary commensurate with experience.
