With a career spanning genres since her debut album “Another Mind,” Hiromi continues to push boundaries, now leading the electrified band “Sonicwonder” featuring Adam O’Farrill, Hadrien Feraud, and Gene Coye. Her ability to fuse intricate melodies and styles makes her a standout in modern jazz.

Trained by her father, sitar master Ravi Shankar, she swiftly established herself in Hindustani classical music and beyond, even exploring flamenco and film scoring. Her sitar virtuosity blends timeless techniques with modern sounds, attracting collaborators like Sting and Norah Jones. With a new quintet including Arun Ghosh, Sarathy Korwar, Pirashanna Thevarajah, and Tom Farmer, Shankar presents a dynamic sound, performing from her recent mini-album and reimagining past releases, offering an inviting journey through diverse musical realms.
