The Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice (GRSJ) invites applicants for sessional lecturer to teach the following courses in Term 2 (January – April 2021).

Please be aware that the courses scheduled in Term 2 will be taught remotely due to COVID-19. Any synchronous teaching must be done during the scheduled course times. By applying to these positions, you are accepting the change in the delivery model.

Applicants must hold a PhD or have advanced to full candidacy by the application deadline. PhD candidates at UBC must have the authorization of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies to teach as sessional instructors. The settlement of any outstanding fees may be a precondition for such authorization.
Appointments are subject to budgetary constraints. Salary depends on rank and experience.

If you have not taught in GRSJ/CSIS, your application must also include:
- Brief cover letter outlining your experience for the position;
- 1-page course description including an overview of possible reading materials/texts and assignments for each course
- Recent teaching evaluations or other evidence of teaching effectiveness;
- Contact details of two referees who can speak to your teaching effectiveness.

All positions are subject to availability of funds and will be governed by UBC’s “Agreement on Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Faculty Members.” The current minimum salary is $7,806.12 per 3-credit course.
