Asian Studies (Research Associate)
The Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver invites applications for a part time (0.4 FTE) Research Associate position with Glorisun Network for Buddhist Studies. The Glorisun Network is a partnership of top-tier universities and supports scholarly activities to advance Buddhist Studies.
The required qualifications are a PhD in a relevant discipline (Buddhist and/or Religious Studies), with focus on qualitative analysis and a strong record of research productivity, as well as ability to translate and edit Mandarin Chinese and English texts. The Glorisun Network Research Associate will play a key role in the project, will be expected to contribute to the academic research output, and will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and interact effectively with our editors and experts. Postdoctoral experience is also highly desirable.

The Glorisun Research Associate position is anticipated to begin March 16, 2020. The position is for an initial period of one year, with possibility of reappointment, subject to positive performance appraisals, availability of funding, and, if applicable, approval by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
This position is subject to final budgetary approval. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
