Asian Philosophy (Assistant Professor, tenure-track)

The Department of Philosophy at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver Campus, invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track position). AOS: Asian Philosophy. AOC: Open. We welcome applications from philosophers who specialize in the philosophical traditions of East Asia and/or South Asia. A Ph.D. in Philosophy or other relevant field (e.g., Asian Studies, Religion) prior to taking up the position is required. Start date: July 1, 2019.

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research program in Asian philosophy, to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Asian philosophy, and to supervise Ph.D. dissertations in Asian philosophy. The standard teaching load is four one-semester courses annually. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The UBC Department of Philosophy is an outstanding mid-size department with numerous research and teaching strengths.
