UBC Language Day

 

Explore over 25 different languages taught at UBC on September 5, 2019!

Join us in front of Koerner Library to celebrate the first-ever UBC Language Day.

What to expect: 

  • Meet with teachers and students from different language programs
  • Try different cultural activities (we heard Danish and Swedish Studies might be bringing Vikings!?!)
  • Learn how a language can benefit you beyond just the Arts requirement. From a new possible degree specialization to a valuable skill throughout your career.

Participating programs: German, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Danish, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Cantonese, Chinese, Hindi-Urdu, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Classical Arabic, Ancient Greek, Biblical Hebrew, Latin, Akkadian, Middle Egyptian, and Coptic.

This event is co-organized by Central, Eastern, and Northern European Studies, Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies, French, Hispanic, and Italian Studies, Asian Studies.
