Year and program: 4th year, Psychology major, Education minor
Where is home for you? Home for me is India. Even though I’m now based in Vancouver, home will always be the people, culture, food, and memories that I grew up with. I’ve also come to appreciate how Vancouver has started to feel like a second home to me.
What three adjectives best describe you?
Kind, dependable, and resilient
What extracurricular activities have you been involved with (UBC related or not)?
I’ve been involved with the UBC Arts Undergraduate Society (AUS), which has given me the opportunity to connect with the UBC community and get involved in student life. Outside of UBC, I’ve completed internships at Moolchand and Zenre, where I gained practical experience and explored my interests. I also enjoy swimming for fun, which helps me stay active and unwind.
What is your best study strategy/tip?
My best study strategy is to write down and memorize the material in focused 45-minute study sessions, followed by a 15-minute break. This helps me stay focused without feeling overwhelmed. I also find that writing things down helps me remember and understand the material better.
If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?
I would get more involved in clubs and campus life from the beginning. I think joining more clubs, attending campus events, and meeting new people would have helped me make the most of my first year and feel more connected to the UBC community.
