Year and program: 3rd year, Honours Philosophy and Law and Society double major
Where is home for you? Ashland, OR and Bellingham, WA
What three adjectives best describe you?
Curious, creative, social!
What extracurricular activities have you been involved with (UBC related or not)?
At UBC I’ve been involved in Ballet Club, CITR and Discorder Mag, Blank Vinyl Project, and some volunteering with Hope to House! Outside of UBC I’ve done a TON of music and dance, I’ve been a peer mentor for mental health and wellness, and done volunteering in lots of different areas!
What is your best study strategy/tip?
Make “cheat sheets” while you’re studying for an exam for every reading, chapter, or section you’re working with! Doing this recall and working with the material in a refreshed way often helps me realize anything I’ve missed! These cheat sheets then are PERFECT for reviewing through exam prep.
If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?
I had a tough first year because of things that were going on outside of school, and if I could do it again I would reach out to more resources that UBC and AUS offer. We’re all in this together, and there are so many wonderful people who will work to understand and stand with you through difficult times. We’re stronger together!
