Lillian

Year and program: 4th year, B+MM Program, Economics major, Interpersonal Development minor

Where is home for you? Nanjing, China

What three adjectives best describe you?

Curious, creative and empathetic

What extracurricular activities have you been involved with (UBC related or not)?

I’ve been part of the UBC Chinese Language Program family for almost four years, helping with events and social media! This summer, I completed my internship at Kimi AI, where I contributed to the launch of K3, currently the world’s largest open source AI model. Outside of school and work, I’m also a small content creator. I love sharing ideas and connecting with people 🙂

What is your best study strategy/tip?

If I can explain something clearly to a friend or family member, I know I’ve truly learned it!

If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?

I would remind myself that four years go by much, much faster than you think. Stop saying “next time” to Homecoming, Blueberry Fest, Block Party, and all the other campus events. Maybe skip a networking event or two. Finding a job can wait a little. Being a student cannot!
