What extracurricular activities have you been involved with (UBC related or not)?
I have been involved in several student-facing roles at UBC, including working with UBC CLP and volunteering as both an Orientation Leader and a Cultural Ambassador for UBC’s Vancouver Summer Program. I have also been involved in some academic and research-related activities in the field of economics.
What is your best study strategy/tip?
My best study tip is to break large tasks into smaller, manageable steps and start early whenever possible. I also find it helpful to review difficult concepts in my own words instead of simply rereading notes.
If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?
I would tell myself not to stress too much and to be more patient with the adjustment process. Starting university can feel overwhelming because there are so many new academic and social expectations, and it is easy to feel like you need to figure everything out right away. I would remind myself that it is completely normal to take some time to adjust, while also being more open to trying new things, meeting new people, and getting involved on campus earlier.
