UBC Arts Multilingual Week’s second annual Multilingual Poetry Slam invites UBC students to deliver a spirited poetry reading from a multilingual perspective.
Students from all disciplines and language backgrounds are invited to sign up here to recite either:
- Their own original poem written in any language(s) other than English or across multiple language(s) including English.
- A poem students have translated themselves from or into any language (e.g., from English to Italian; from English to Italian and Tibetan; from Italian to English; from Italian to English and Tibetan; from Italian to Tibetan and Japanese, etc.).
All members of the UBC are most welcome to attend the competition, and this year’s prizes include Gift Certificates to the UBC Bookstore.
This event is a part of Arts Multilingual Week 2024 from March 4 to 8. Join us to celebrate multilingualism and immerse in various activities to engage with different languages and cultures. There are opportunities to showcase artistic expressions of multilingualism, discuss career prospects for multilingual graduates, and participate in activities such as poetry slams and art competitions.
