Weekly Drop-In Career Advising for Arts Students

Undergraduate Arts students and recent graduates are encouraged to bring their career questions and concerns to Robyn Stalkie, Arts Career Strategist, every Wednesday from 1 to 3pm. This is drop-in advising, which means no appointment is necessary!


De-stress with Bunnies

With the end of the semester and exams approaching, it is important to take some time to de-stress. Arts Embedded Counsellor, Laura Harvey, will be hosting a de-stress session with bunnies! Come, pet some rabbits and learn about strategies for managing stress during exams.


UBC Opera: Cosí fan tutte

Mozart’s tale of love’s vices is a timeless classic beloved by audiences the world over. Ferrando and Guglielmo enter into a wager with the old cynic Alfonso to test the faithfulness of their two fiancées, Fiordiligi and Dorabella. What ensues is a series of cunning plot twists bringing into doubt everyone’s devotion to their would-be lovers.

Follow Joan Dark, a compassionate soul who strives to do good, Mauler the Meat King, a ruthless businessman who wants out of the market, and a group of starving workers organizing for their rights. This brand-new adaptation connects Brecht to our current reality, urging us to examine our aspirations to do good and the missed opportunities for cooperation in difficult times.

Witness UBC Bands at the Chan Centre this April with performances by the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Concert Winds. Enjoy performances conducted by Robert Taylor and Jaelem Bhate, alongside graduate assistant conductors, Maggie Whiteman and Michael Witt.


Concert at the Belkin: Aporia (Notes to a Medium)

Join us for Senses of Doubt, a concert by the UBC Contemporary Players in a program that celebrates the Belkin’s current exhibition Aporia (Notes to a Medium). Directed by Paolo Bortolussi and coach Joanne S. Na, this UBC School of Music graduate and undergraduate student ensemble will breathe life into the gallery during an afternoon program. Their performance will be a dynamic response to the exhibition.


UBC Balinese Gamelan

The UBC Balinese Gamelan ensemble performs the rich and dynamic Gamelan music of Bali Indonesia. The ensemble is made up of a beautiful symphony of gongs, drums, and other percussion, and the music is full of syncopated melodies, layered textures, and unexpected shifts and transitions.


Vox and Oriana Choirs

UBC’s Vox and Oriana choirs (formerly Men’s and Women’s Choirs) present music featuring a dynamic variety of repertoire for treble and lower voice ensembles. Celebrate and witness the hard work of these groups on April 11!

Arts Career Design Studio (2SLGBTQUIA+ Students and Allies)

The Arts Career Design Studio is a cohort-based, two-day intensive program for undergraduate Arts students seeking to develop skills in job search, storytelling, and networking. This Studio seeks to create a safe space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies to learn tools to design a meaningful path through their Arts degrees and think about life after graduation.
