From September 4 to November 1, UBC ARTIVISM experienced love as a revolutionary force at ARTIVISM: Heart On Fire. The festival theme for the 8th annual UBC ARTIVISM festival celebrated existing cultures of care, and invited new realities centred on compassion. Through radically creative spaces and bringing marginalized artistic expressions centre stage, audiences were invited to join in igniting love towards liberation and setting oppressive systems ablaze.
Presented by UBC Arts and Culture District 2024 festival Artistic Director Jesse Ramos in partnership with the Exposure UBC student club team, this annual festival highlighted stories of resilience and student activist art that challenges dominant narratives through live performances, poetry, music and more.
